Water and sanitation activities are critical to reduce the transmission of diseases and exposure to diseasebearing vectors through the promotion of good hygiene practices, the provision of safe drinking water, and the reduction of environmental health risks. Water systems, hand pumps, latrines, vector control, solid waste disposal, and drainage are all components.
SCF funded construction of a comprehensive fresh water well and sanitation project to provide clean drinking water and effective waste disposal for children and families living in more than 85 slums in West Bengal.
