PCI assists poor, predominately rural women throughout India to generate much-needed supplemental income for their families by providing them with small loans and microenterprise management skills. Micro-credit initiative in 20 villages of Sanganer block in Rajasthan

Sanganer, Rajasthan, India

A community bank has been established to provide microfinance services to 50 villages.

2,000 women have been identified and trained in basic financial credit principles.

2,000 women received small loans to revive or establish small businesses.

Other financial and non-financial services, such as emergency loans and insurance to help people cope with emergencies, have been implemented.
