Since building the communal bathrooms in the schools, Rise and Rebuild has observed first-hand the tremendous problem of malnourishment among the students. Their operational experience has taught them that they need to supplement government supplied food with vegetables and protein. The gardening program is the most cost-effective way to supplement.
The need for blocks has overwhelmed their current block factory. With the need for more room for the block factory combined with the need for land to garden, they have purchased land and begun moving the block factory to meet the future block production needs and provide enough excess for farmable land to meet the gardening needs.
